These three pieces make up one final piece. Like God taking form in 3 persons. Like all colors can be derived from 3 (yellow, red, blue). I get a ton of bad looks and comments from this one, let me tell you. I think it hits a nerve with people, Christians alike. In actuality I can't figure out if people get upset because it's a depiction of Jesus on the cross or because it's a depiction of a BROWN Jesus. Let us see him as how he most likely was. These three together on a wall make a powerful statement.

Thank you for that. I get such a wide variety of reactions to this. From downright hate and outright mean comments to my face to admiration of it. It's interesting to me the effect I see in people's face and attitude...
hmmmm I didn't realize that it was a brown Jesus till I read what you said...I think the blood dripping is more what caught my eye... but then if one is familiar with the teachings in the Bible may be they would not be so offended with this representation.
I am not getting why people would be offended? What does being christian or not have to do with it?

There are alot of people that take a defensive stance when you mention the words "Jesus Christ" to them. They take offense to images of Jesus. It's ok to talk about God, but mention Jesus and its a different story.
Oh, okay! I just find that rather odd considering the very very long history of jesus being depicted either in 2d or 3d in the church and outside of the church.

I am currently taking an art class on teaching elementary art and I was reading a chapter on how we should allow our students to use art to challenge the values of a society. Furthermore, that we should allow them to display it. I'm supposed to do a response in my visual journal regarding this chapter. So I googled "controversial art," and after seeing some not so pleasant art, I saw your blog. This piece is one of my favorites. I was wondering if you have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord. Have you?
Anyway, you seem to have very biblical topics running throughout your art and I just wanted to say that I really like you're art. Some images are similar to what I have imagined in my head but have not been able to produce in image on paper.
I also wanted to ask if I could put our images in my visual journal purely for the purpose of sharing it with my art class.
